Riverina Poffertjes

Poffertjes are a Dutch tradition dating back to the 1500's.Commonly known in Australia as "mini dutch pancakes"
Traditionally served with melted butter and icing sugar, can also be added to with jam and cream or syrups such as ,maple,chocolate,strawberry,caramel and lemon.
These little gems however are different from a standard pancake both in size and texture, while standard pancakes use a heavier more doughy mix, poffertjes use a lighter,fluffier batter resulting in a puffey treat that tastes fantastic
